Feed Your Plants With Food Waste

A couple weeks ago, our team made the trek to Chicago for the Independent Garden Center Show, where we had the chance to meet with garden centers, retailers and vendors from across the country — and most importantly, talk about the future of our industry and our planet.

Attendees were also able to vote for their favorite new products and plants – and we’re excited to announce that TrashCan’s food-waste fertilizer took home top honors in the Best New Product category.

With up to 40% of the food supply in the United States getting thrown away each year – food waste is the #1 contributor to methane-belching landfills. TrashCan uses food waste as our number one ingredient, plus a blend of organic ingredients, to deliver the micronutrients necessary for healthy soil and plant growth.

“Our team believes that good products should also be good for our planet,” said Bob Nicholson, President at TrashCan. “That’s why we’re taking that food out of the waste stream and putting it to work where it can do the most good – in your garden. We’re thankful for the support of our friends at the Independent Garden Center Show.”

Our 4-4-4 all-purpose fertilizer is great for experienced growers and beginners, and works with vegetables, flowers, houseplants and more. Try it for yourself and see what the hype is about!
